6:16 Now, O Lord God of Israel, keep the promise you made to your servant, my father David, when you said, ‘You will never fail to have a successor ruling before me on the throne of Israel, ¹  provided that your descendants watch their step and obey my law as you have done.’ ²

14:7 He said to the people of Judah: ⁷  “Let’s build these cities and fortify them with walls, towers, and barred gates. ⁸  The land remains ours because we have followed ⁹  the Lord our God and he has made us secure on all sides.” ¹⁰  So they built the cities ¹¹  and prospered.

2 Tawarikh 19:10

19:10 Whenever your countrymen who live in the cities bring a case before you ¹²  (whether it involves a violent crime ¹³  or other matters related to the law, commandments, rules, and regulations), warn them that they must not sin against the Lord. If you fail to do so, God will be angry with you and your colleagues; but if you obey, you will be free of guilt. ¹⁴

30:6 Messengers ¹⁷  delivered the letters from the king and his officials throughout Israel and Judah.

This royal edict read: ¹⁸  “O Israelites, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so he may return ¹⁹  to you who have been spared from the kings of Assyria. ²⁰
